“An excellent find” — 1965cooper ( Tripadvisor )We walked from La Manga Club to Portman and called in this wonderful restaurant in Portman. A friendly welcome, and very good food at a good price awaits. The menu is interesting and varied and there are a number of modern takes on classic dishes. We had various dishes which were all delicious, one of the highlights being the Tuna Tartare. The owner suggested we tried the Rice Pudding and said it would be 'the best you've ever had' - it was! Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
"A new favorite" — Richard M ( Tripadvisor )Have been a few times (5 or 6?), keep coming back. A bit different and a fantastic host. There is always something new on the menu to try. It's also a nice quiet location and you can take a walk after lunch and enjoy the bay and village..and lots more. Ask the host for ideas.
“An excellent find if you are visiting La Manga” — Keith1504 ( Tripadvisor )This restaurant is in the small ex-mining village of Portman, near to where we were staying at La Manga Club. We have been going to La Manga Club for many years and most of the restaurants are well known to us, so this was a very welcome find. Portman is in the opposite direction to where most people would go and is still very Spanish and unspoilt by the tourist invasions. The food is mostly seafood based but with some unusual items. For example I had scrambled egg and sea urchin as a starter followed by grilled Turbot and pig cheeks. As dessert there was "fried egg and french fries"!!! That's what it looked like anyway but it tasted good as a dessert should. It was all excellent with very friendly service. If you are visiting La Manga I would thoroughly recommend a visit even if it is a little out of the way (although only a 10 minute drive).
